It’s with a belated sigh of relief that the Two Man Tape Co. can finally present to you our next ferric offering. There’s been a few hurdles with suppliers (and then some) that has caused a considerable amount of grief in getting the UK release of Nazi Phonks out into the light of day. In fact, it has taken us so long to produce this tape, that MethXCamp have ceased to exist as a unit.
This does NOT however, have any bearing on the sheer sonic impact that this short cassette delivers.
MethXCamp were a project from the Bristol area, featuring members of Skinners and Pyophagia to name a few, who expertly blended insane noisecore with furious powerviolence. For those who do not often roll in the stinking pits of gloomy music, both of these genres are distinct cousins of grindcore, with their own unique hallmarks and rabid forms of aggression. MethXCamp blend these styles expertly, and without being derivative - a feat that is nearly impossible in the world of grindcore in 2022. One needs to only look to their “full length” record (which possesses a title I will not bother to try and replicate here for my own sanity) to appreciate these ferocious noisemongers in their natural habitat.
Here however, on Nazi Phonks Fuck Off, MethXCamp mix these uncompromising styles of music with dark and distorted hip hop; a tribute to the Memphis area scene, with beats that callback to early Gravediggaz or Three Six Mafia. It slaps you in the face with its bizarre mix of milli-second song bursts and head-nodding beats. Imagine if someone pushed Brotha Lynch Hung and the members of 7 Minutes Of Nausea into the machine from The Fly. You simply must hear this.
We couldn’t be prouder for Nazi Phonks to launch our line of darker, heavier recordings, which we’ll be putting out under the Dream Darker sub-label series. Keep your eyes peeled as we’ll be working with some more full bands and artists alongside our continued electronic offerings in the TMT mainline catalogue.
It's good to be back!
