Sean of TMT here, with a little bit about our fourth cassette release!

I first discovered Gar Hoover on Reddit, I think because I'm part of the PO-33 sub, but it was here where I stumbled across a post from Gar himself, promoting the second volume in the Sketches series. Being a huge fan of Teenage Engineering's PO-33 pocket synth/sequencer (on which both Sketches albums were created), I devoured both volumes and enjoyed them enormously. When the time came for scouting possibilities for the next TMT next release, it did not take many showcased tracks to convince my TMT partner Gareth that we should reach out about putting the first volume of Sketches on cassette. Thankfully, Gar accepted, and here we are today.

I don't know much about Gar Hoover. In our correspondence via email he is a man of few words, but he seems humble and reserved (although is certainly not shy on his YouTube channel!). It is his music however, that speaks volumes. The fact that he has squeezed so many complex, vibrant, full compositions out of a battery-operated synthesizer that is smaller than most personal phones is nothing short of absolute genius, especially when you consider the hardware / memory limitations of such a unit!
